GENDER, CULTURE AND RESISTANCES IN PALESTINE

النوع والثقافة والمقاومة في فلسطين

Pary El-Qalqili
“When I was 12 years old, my father left us to return to Palestine. His dream to build a house and continue the struggle for the liberation of Palestine failed. He was expelled by the Israelis. Suddenly he was back in Berlin, ringing at our front door. My mother looked at him, didn’t say a word and let him in. He now spends his days sitting in the basement of our little townhouse, buried inside his tortoise shell”
